If you have a passion for beauty and a passion for teaching, we want you to learn more about the instructor program at our schools. Instructors in a beauty school have the opportunity to train future generations of beauty professionals, which makes a huge impact on the future of the entire industry! Licensed cosmetologists with less than three years of working experience could complete the 1000-hour instructor program, while licensed cosmetologists with three or more years of experience could complete the 500-hour instructor program.
Either way, the program is offered on a full-time schedule, so students in the program can begin teaching as soon as possible. Whether you want to study at Aveda Institute Boise or Aveda Institute Twin Falls, we invite you to contact us to request more information.
The full-time instructor program is available at both Aveda Institute Boise and Aveda Institute Twin Falls.
The length of the program depends on your experience. Licensed cosmetologists with less than three years of experience behind the chair must take the 1000-hour instructor program course, while licensed cosmetologists with three or more years of working experience can take the 500-hour instructor program course.
You can make a difference in the growing and ever-changing beauty industry. As a trained beauty instructor, you could inspire, guide, and help students master the skills that you have learned and perfected over the years.
Being a beauty school instructor can be a welcome change after working as a hands-on cosmetologist. Some people need these types of career changes to boost their personal drive and advance within the industry. In fact, becoming an instructor is a great way to deepen your personal understanding of industry practices and skills while also developing valuable interpersonal skills that can help you in the near and distant future.
Instructors at beauty schools often enjoy the split between teaching and serving clients. Because you will be spending a lot of time in the salon with the students, becoming an instructor does not necessarily mean your time behind the salon chair is over.
As an Aveda beauty school, we are part of a community that emphasizes sustainability, eco-friendliness, and social progress. We believe in the importance of using naturally-sourced products that are safe and effective. We also recognize our society’s growing preference for plant-based, cruelty-free beauty products and services that actually work.
The global Aveda network extends throughout multiple countries, offering a huge support system to fall back on for personal growth opportunities and career development. As the beauty industry continues to grow, even in difficult economic times, Aveda is right there at the head of the industry, and we are proud to offer educational opportunities to students who bring their own set of talents and skills to the world of beauty.
We offer the instructor program as a full-time course, so our students can reach their educational goals as soon as possible. If you have questions about specific times and dates of classes, please contact us.
Contact our admissions team to learn more about program costs.
Yes! Financial aid is available to those who qualify. There are some unique aspects of the instructor program that makes financial aid opportunities different from those of our other programs. Only students enrolled in the 1000-hour instructor program can qualify for financial aid. Those enrolled in the 500-hour program are not eligible because of the short duration of the program. Either way, it is a good idea to begin the financial aid process by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®).
Many students at our school have qualified for Pell Grants. They have even qualified for grants that exceed the cost of our program, which means they could pay for the program and have some money left over without needing to take out a loan. Contact us to learn more about your financial aid opportunities.
You must have a current cosmetology license for the state of Idaho to enroll in either of our instructor programs. Enrolling in the 500-hour program requires three or more years of experience as a licensed cosmetologist.
If you are ready to advance your future, start the enrollment process by contacting our admissions team to book a school tour and request more information about the instructor program. We can set up a time to discuss your educational goals and needs, the costs of the program, and the advantages of choosing an Aveda school.
